Darren and I started to study Revelation together and I'm a little nervous already. There is just so much symbolism in the book that I feel like I'm going to be overwhelmed and confused. Hopefully the ESV Study Bible, the study Bible to end all study Bibles will help us out. Like the seven spirits of God are apparently a metaphor for the Holy Spirit? It makes sense after reading the commentary but I would have never figured it out.
When I picture Christ now I picture Him as we see Him in the gospels. I guess because I always read the gospels and am most familiar with them but am scared of Revelation and never read it. I picture Christ as a lowly meek carpenter. A Jewish Rabbi. Just a pretty normal looking guy. But thats not the picture of Christ in the opening of Revelation. I forget that He defeated death and rose from the grave and is now in a glorified body. Just think how much Moses regular human face was glowing from being in the presence of God. Christ has a glorified body and is constantly at the right hand of the Father in the throne room of God. Plus He is God Himself. Christ isn't just the Lamb of the gospels but He is returning the Lion of Judah! He may have been the lowly carpenter turned rabbi that came to serve and die but now He shine like the sun, His eyes are like fire, His hair is white as snow, His voice is like the roaring of many waters and out of His mouth comes a sharp sword. He's not just the Lamb that most people picture Him as, He's not coming back to hand out lollipops and ice cream and the bringing butterflies and rainbows and sunshine. When He returns all the nations will mourn! He's coming back to judge the world. Are we ready for His return? Do we live life in light of the fact that He's going to return?
I know I definitely don't. I fail pretty badly. But its encouraging to know that our victory is assured! That its not my works but the works of Him that died and rose again that will be what is ultimately important on His return. And the fact that Christ is coming back should encourage us to always press on and grow and fail less and less over time.
Are you ready for His return?

ASUS T101MT
Dear Parents,
If you are reading my blog this is a hint if you want to get me something extra special on my 21st birthday :-D
This is a new convertible touch screen netbook, also known now as a netvertible, by ASUS. T stands for tablet, 101 is the screen size, 10.1" and MT means that is has multitouch. It has the new Atom N450 (or N470 in a version that I haven't seen yet, maybe shipping later), 1GB of RAM (or 2GB), a 160GB (or 320GB) 2.5" SATA HDD, and 3 point multi-touch. I've seen a couple of reviews and this looks like a very promising device. The only flaw is the GMA3150 that fails at really doing anything graphically like watching 720p videos on youtube. But if you know what you are getting into when you buy this netbook, thats not a huge deal. Plus you don't need anything too high quality on such a small screen. Plus I tend to thing that upgrading to an SSD fixes everything. Its like duct tape. Put something like this in it.
The most complete review can be found at netbooklive.net.
About a week ago it was going around the web that this netbook would be going on sale in April for a price of around $499 (does the price remind you of a certain other tablet?). But last night I found it on Amazon.com a little early for $509 which is right around the predicted price. Originally there was no picture or any real information but today a little more was added. It is shown is in stock by a site mobileadvance.com but going to their actual site doesn't yield anything. So is this an accident or are they actually shipping already? I don't have $509 to find out but if you want to buy it and see if it ships go for it. Worst comes to worst it just ships later in the month.

Sho Baraka's Lions and Liars on Sale Now!
Sho Baraka's Lions and Liars CD went on sale yesterday! You can pick it up at Walmart or many of the Christian book stores. Having listened to it already I highly recommend it! The album nicely features a lot of great artists and as always praises the name of the LORD!
Somehow the entire CD is already up on youtube for your listening pleasure. I'm pretty sure its illegal but I'm sure Sho won't mind if your mind is filled with his God exalting lyrics. So if you want to listen to the CD before you purchase it I have made a playlist on youtube.

Google to integrate Flash into Chrome
When I first learned about html 5 I thought it was a pretty cool deal. But now that the vegetable computer company is bad mouthing Adobe so much I'm perfectly fine waiting around for html 5 to take as long as possible. With the vegetable computer being so popular many many sites were actually beginning to come out with non-flash versions of their sites so they could be viewed entirely by mobile vegetable products. So its good to see that Google is fighting back against this by supporting flash. I heard a joke once that Chrome is Chrome OS so anything that goes into Chrome also goes into Google's upcoming mobile operating system. This means that later this year when Chrome OS devices start rolling out they will natively support flash and will not require any extra downloads or any updates. This is the exact opposite of the vegetable company that wants to cut off their users from Flash. This will be a huge thing in the future if someone is deciding between a Google tablet and a vegetable tablet. The Google tablet will be able to offer the user the full experience of the internet by allowing you to use flash while the vegetable pad will not allow that.
In a completely different aspect of it, I've had to help a friend or two combat viruses that they got when installing a virus that posed as a flashplayer update. So with Flash being updated automatically by the browser something like this will be avoided. But then again anyone falling for a fake flash download probably isn't using Chrome anyway.
For my use of vegetable computer see jkk of jkkmobile.
For the joke about Chrome see Google's announcement presentation of Chrome OS.
